A bit of a tetchy subject, perhaps...
Personally, I have rather high morals when it comes to illegal substances... (marijuana, cocaine, heroin, etc...) I don't approve of them at all. People seem to think that experimenting is fun and what young people should do... but... I don't agree... Because people may become addicted to these things, and they keep taking them (it's not just a one off thing)... and become dependant on them, hurting themselves as well as others.
I know that's fairly extreme, but it can, and does happen... I would never want to risk it, even for the sake of "getting high"... surely there are better things to do with your time? *shrug*
Any other thoughts?

Well as me being a young person right now who hasn't been exposed to anything whatsoever--my parents honestly don't give me a chance I'm gonna grow up and not be able to give any personal experience to my kids whatsoever--anyways I'd hate to be addicted to something like that but I mean maybe to try once or even be tempted and turn it down and then I'll feel all strong and confident ;D I really dunno. I have a few friends who do some drugs but I feel optimistic about it. I'm not gonna really pressure them out of it unless they want help when I see that they want help to quit I will likely do anything i can to help them. But I mean they've never been stupid enough to bring it to school. But I do worry about htis one guy who is siriusly stoned most of the time well it used to be two guys but one graduated this year and he did everything--then again he's a crazy Russian d**n Russians --but I still don't think he ever brought it to school. God knows whatever the hell Sergei did. I know he brought Vodka to a Raider comp before--really funny story behind that. lol ok I keep rambling on. *stops and clicks post*

LOL right...
I guess this subject is just strong for me, because I'm very much against drugs (illegal)...
Some people I knew (I wish to never speak to them again), smoke marijuana and bongs, etc... and I think it's one person in particular who has introduced them to it, and I hate him for that, because I blame him for changing my former friend too much (he manipulated her, I'm sure of it, she never would have touched the stuff if she'd never met him... well I can't be too sure on that, but I feel that if they'd never got together, then things would be very different now...)
Alcohol is another thing... I myself don't like it and don't drink, but many of my friends do (former friends as well)... and the thing I hate the most, is that they always tried to get me to drink, even though they knew I didn't want to. Peer pressure. I hate it. And I'm glad I was strong enough not to give in to it...

Well the if I havea friend that's never done any of it and someone else pressured them into and their life starts going downhill I am as sure as hell going to do anything to stop it.

That's just how I see it, really... I mean maybe she wasn't pressured, maybe she did want to do it, which means I know less about her than I thought I did (and also means the friendship was doomed from the start)...
But she may not have been exposed to them if it weren't for him... Maybe I'm just looking for a scapegoat, I don't know, but I do blame him for the break down in the friendship...

Me either... I find it kind of unimaginative of people to think that they need drugs to have fun, to be honest...

And plus it's so risky. I mean besides the fact that you can't think, your breaking off relationships, you can be raped or beaten, you could die of many health problems...there's also the fact of being arressted and thrown into jail for a lon time. And then your record is tarnished forever no matter what.

Exactly... Plus it's not exactly a cheap "habit" either... those sorts of things are expensive to buy. People who become addicted could end up on the street or selling themselves just to get a "hit", and what a waste!

Well, I do understand why a lot of people take drugs... Usually, they have a bad life and they want to forget it for a moment... However, I don't agree with drugs because people become addicted with them.

I don't see having a bad life as being a good excuse for it, myself... I know things can be bad sometimes, but still... Drugs aren't the answer - they are temporary "solutions" that can end up having worse consequences than the reason for taking them in the first place...
Just the way I see it, really... =/

Well, I have to agree with you. I had a boyfriend who used to drink and do coke (now, I say used to because he don't do it no more). He would be cool one minute and then he would change all of a sudden. He would become mean and abusive. I don't mean dangerously, but he would change in an instant. I nyself have tried drinking. I'm not gonna lie and make myself look like a saint. It really isn't worth it. And I know, since I've been there. My mom also used to drink. That was just terrible. She would get mad and start hitting things one minute and the next she was crying, saying how we don't love her. I don't think it's worth it. I don't think it's cool. But, if they want to do it, who am I to stop them.

I agree with most of the stuff already said here...drugs = generally bad, alcohol = bad. I get a huge amount of peer pressure when it comes to drinking cos I don't go out getting pissed like all my mates do...I tell them I don't wanna but they try their best to convince me to do it. But I stand firm and say no and shall continue to do so btw...I said drugs are generally bad...all the hardcore stuff is bad no matter what way you look at it. But sorta from what Caro said...what do you guys think of people using cannabis to improve their quality of life and reduce pain? i.e cancer patients. Would you want to spend day after day in excruciating pain when there was a way of getting away from it, even if it is only temporary? And it's been proven to reduce the pain associated with multiple sclerosis and arthritis as well as help with other diseases. Is that wrong? Because I don't think it is.

If it's for medicinal purposes then yes, of course it's ok, if it eases pain... but for illegal abuse... I don't agree...

Yeah, I agree. For medical things it's ok, but for anything else..... I personally will never ever, ever, ever take drugs or anything like that, I won't smoke a ciggerette, it just mucks up your life. There was this smiley thing I found...ah: I agree with it. It only mucks up your life. It makes you die young and stuff like that.....
